    Temporary position for 18 months

     We’re seeking a seasoned Event Planner with deep expertise in event and conference management—someone who excels at delivering exceptional service, building strong relationships, and executing seamless, memorable experiences. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the events that unite, celebrate, and inspire the Desjardins Agent Network (DAN). You will lead internal events from concept through execution, bringing strong communication skills in writing, proofreading, and presenting to every stage of the planning process. As a strategic and creative partner, you will deliver operational excellence while collaborating closely with fellow event planners, internal stakeholders, external vendors, and senior leaders. Your work will ensure each event reflects the strength, values, and spirit of our organization. More specifically, you will be required to: 

    • Plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of internal events, including leadership meetings, virtual Agent meetings, department employee meetings, Regional Director meetings, and their corresponding planning sessions. Manage external event needs such as The Personal Insurance Company (TPIC) functions and ticket administration. Support the Senior Event Planner in delivering large-scale initiatives, including incentive programs and operational meetings
    • Conduct research, site visits, and vendor assessments to help identify the best event options
    • Negotiate effectively with vendors (venues, hotels, catering, supplies, etc.) to secure strong value and service
    • Provide recommendations that enhance planning efficiency, quality, and attendee experience
    • Lead post‑event evaluations to identify improvements for future events
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail and minimal supervision
    • Stay current with industry best practices, meeting‑management standards, and emerging trends
    • Handle administrative aspects of the role including invoicing, event tracker and Procurement

    What you bring to the table

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in Event Planning and conference management. 
    • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
    • Experience with executing vendor assessments and contracts
    • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation 
    • Expert proficiency in English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English speaking partners, members and/or clients
    • Advanced knowledge coordinating complex events from concept to completion
    • Available for 25% of travel within Ontario, across Canada and international (Valid passport required. Some overtime leading up to and during events in the evenings, rarely on weekends)
    • Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
