Application delivery manager
Job Offer
The mission of the IT Foundations Enterprise Content Management Department is to manage, develop and operate electronic document management platforms for all of Desjardins Group. These platforms cover the entire digital document lifecycle, from creation to destruction. We manage around a dozen IT assets that are critical to operations (24/7), collaborate with five software providers and carry out more than 200 projects a year, supporting priority initiatives and various business sectors within Desjardins Group. As application delivery manager, you’ll be responsible for completing projects under our “requestor-pays” model, with over 150 annual projects coming from our five IT divisions, as well as from our business sectors. These complex and varied projects mainly involve the document vaults (Documentum, InfoArchive). In this role, you’ll ensure that your internal clients’ needs are fully met, from comprehensive assessment to resource planning, while ensuring optimal team capacity and assignments. You’ll also be responsible for managing follow-up and escalation, controlling budgets (amounting to approximately $5 million per year, spread out over several project codes), engaging contributors and ensuring the quality of deliverables. The variety, complexity and volume of projects make this a stimulating challenge, giving you exclusive insights into the major and strategic projects being rolled out across the organization. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Plan deliverables for the application and technology component, including project cost estimates, taking into account issues, complexity, stakeholders and alignments between the department’s products.
- Proactively manage human resource capacity based on the projects received to ensure that the right skills are available at the right time.
- Manage project finances by overseeing allocations, tracking budgets and ensuring that each resource is properly funded.
- Supervise and coordinate the teams involved in delivering application and technology projects, ensuring performance and quality control, and defining standards, methods and procedures.
- Coordinate deliverables and ensure that agreements, budgets and timelines are respected. Resolve issues and roadblocks while providing an optimal client experience.
- Prevent and manage escalations by proactively communicating project progress and issues to managers as part of your monthly reports to decision-making bodies.
