    Desjardins General Insurance Group is looking for a data governance analyst. You play a key role in data valorization and governance in the Data Analytics Department. The department’s contribution will directly influence the future of data use as a strategic asset in business processes and the development of new data foundations. You have a comprehensive view of the sector and play a support role with various stakeholders to guide them in best practices for data governance. You ensure an environment that allows for the optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of our members and clients, in accordance with compliance, privacy, confidentiality and security rules. You also help direct data use and valorization to increase organizational efficiency, optimize data governance practices and comply with regulatory, legal and sector-specific requirements. More specifically, you will be required to:

    • Advise data producers and users to ensure data can be exploited to its full potential with an eye to sound data governance, for the benefit of members and clients.
    • Conduct complex data quality analyses that include profiling, identifying gaps and correcting data from multiple sources.
    • Document the data flows and data transformation logic from capture to delivery.
    • Develop and maintain data governance logs, tools and dashboards.
    • Advise teams on how to apply data management processes and controls properly.
    • Apply pragmatic data governance approaches that improve operational activities and implement continuous improvement processes for data quality management.
    • Carry out projects related to the development of data governance.

    What you bring to the table

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
    • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
    • Knowledge of French is required
    • Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
    • Expertise in data mining and manipulation
    • Proficiency in a query language such as SQL, SAS or Python for exploratory analysis and profiling tasks
    • Proficiency in visualization language like Power BI to monitor data quality
    • Knowledge of a specialized tool in data governance and data cataloging
