    As Vice-President of the Capital Markets Structuring and Syndication group, you help structure and set up bank financing transactions for large corporations. This includes analyzing financing needs, sketching out transaction structures and reviewing legal documents. In this role, you help the business development teams structure loans, present financing offers to clients and negotiate terms. You have a considerable impact on the organization by helping promote services and maintain business relationships with members and clients. You also support the Manager and the General Manager with client-facing representation and negotiations. You help develop and maintain personal business relationships with strategic and important clients—primarily businesses, associations and groups—to ensure they are getting the most out of their products and services and are fully satisfied with them. You drive results by helping your unit meet its sales and business development objectives. You prepare recommendations to develop the syndication strategy for bank financing transactions and help the team implement the strategy through to the final allocations, in keeping with authorized retention targets. You help develop and maintain prestige accounts with major development potential for your sector or the organization. You work with clients with diverse, highly complex needs, so the ability to communicate effectively and thoroughly understand the needs they express is essential. Your complex work and initiatives require basic knowledge of financing principles. More specifically, you will be required to :

    • Help develop the financing structure and syndication strategy for bank financing. This includes modelling and analyzing the financing needs and cash flows of existing and potential clients.
    • Build and maintain relationships with partners at other financial institutions involved in syndicated transactions.
    • Help develop pricing based on comparable financing analyses.
    • Help develop the team’s approach and marketing materials in preparation for client meetings.
    • Help prepare financing applications within the time constraints imposed by the competition and the decision-making process. Attend conference calls and client/lender meetings as needed.
    • Help develop a leading position in bank syndicate financing.
    • Help build and maintain Desjardins’s reputation as a top-notch financial institution for large corporations.

    What you bring to the table

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field
    • A minimum of six years of relevant experience
    • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
    • Experience in a work environment that requires managing multiple priorities
    • Proficiency in written and spoken French
    • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
    • Expertise in business, commerce or finance
    • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and credit analysis
    • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
