Senior Advisor, Procurement and purchasing
Job Offer
As a senior purchasing and procurement advisor, you help finalize contractual agreements with the organization’s partners for the purchase and rental of goods and services. You procure the products required for operations by planning and coordinating with suppliers. Your responsibilities may include one or more sub-specialties, such as the strategic sourcing and procurement of goods and services, asset management, contract and partnership management, inventory and restocking, outsourced service management, and governance. You lead and influence development projects and complex, highly innovative strategic initiatives involving multiple sectors. You help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions. Your initiatives require extensive knowledge of your field. You make recommendations on the planning and execution of operationally and conceptually complex projects and initiatives that require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in a wide range of other fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as expert advisor and subject-matter expert in your field as well as resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. You represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins when making strategic agreements with external providers. More specifically, you will be required to :
- Advise clients and partners to help them position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects and initiatives
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans stemming from procurement business positions and strategic directions
- Analyze needs. Identify, analyze, diagnose and address major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
- Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support your unit’s strategic projects and initiatives
- Develop, implement and monitor solutions, processes, strategic improvements and long-term cost optimization approaches. Develop indicators and monitoring approaches for provider performance
- Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required
